Entreaty to Spring

Oh,

That I could coax you

out, from underneath

these thin, white sheets

Press bare skin

against your wetness.

Unfurled,

you retreated to the safety

of hibernation.

To the sweet relief

of sedation.

Spring, that I could coax you,

I would lie in your rains,

shivering beneath

your cloudy skies

enchanted by

the flirtatious hint

of sunshine

with your every wink.
